100 Days Of Awe: Day Seventy – In-No-Sense

Day 70: In-No-SenseIMAG4793William Whitecloud is completing his visit to the UK with the delivery of his final Meet Your Genius two day event in London.  This two day workshop is designed to introduce everyone to their highest level of creativity and reveal that each of us have innate talent and genius that can be accessed at will.  It was at a workshop like this 5 years ago that my appetite for creative mastery was whetted and the training I have undertaken since has opened up a whole new world of adventure and artistry.  I may have done a workshop like this before but I have never done THIS workshop, it may look like the same material, we may cover the same premises but when I am present to the unadulterated moment it is never the same.  The ability to surrender the need to know, to step outside the preception of our belief and definitions is a place where we can see the world with the awe and wonder of innocence.  In-No-Sense where even the grubby carpet in the Kensington Close Hotel becomes a cornucopia of fascination.

100 Days of Awe is a playful project I set up to bring my attention to awe in my daily life. I see awe as wonder, a mixture of amazement and respect.  I expect the experience of awe to be about perception shifting awareness and that demands a reframing of some sort.  I am excited to see what will awe me on this journey.

100 Days Of Awe: Day Sixty Seven – Emerging From The Portal

Day 67: Emerging From The Portal

IMAG4740-001Foxglove, Barnett Hill

Imagine, if you will, being deeply silently wrapped in a womb like blanket for four days, exploring the unending corridors of your own mind and pysche, unravelling the layers of the onion that is you.  See yourself dropping away from the surface noise of the machinations of the world, of diaries and dramas to synchronise with the heart beat of the moment; steady, rythmic, all consuming, nourishing.  Now imagine emerging from that chrysallis, raw, vulnerable, wide eye, wonderous and not a little stupefied.  It is like emerging into the world from the pink spotted palm of a foxglove.  The world is big, boisterous, mystical and mind boggling.  We are may not be visibly different but we are reconfigured; equipped with sword and sheild, brave hearted warrior’s for love and truth.  Bye bye Creative Warrior  training and the bosom of Barnett Hill, hello to the unknown and a new way of living.

100 Days Of Awe: Day Sixty Five – Going For The Truth

Day 65: Going For The TruthIMAG4720This was always going to be a different kinda of week.  If you have been following my blog you may have noticed more than a few mentions of William Whitecloud.  This is not because I have an unhealthy obsession with William – honest!  But rather because this year I have chosen to focus this year on anchoring my creativity with a series of William Whitecloud trainings.  William is one of the best, if not THE best creative practicioners I know.  The author of The Magician’s Way and The Last Shaman he is also the founder of the Natural Success organisation which promotes and teaches techniques and programmes to tap in your own personal genius and your highest level of creative function.

Yesterday I started the Creative Warrior intensive, a 4 day trainer’s immersion at Barnett Hill a Queen-Anne style property built at the beginning of the 19th Century.  A pretty, normal event hotel and conference centre it was an unprepossing portal to a shamanic land where time and space are twisted and distorted, where the gauntlet of the grey feather floats down, where my mobile phone refuses to charge and eighteen normal people don invisible breast plates to become warriors for truth; most specifically our truth.  In this slice of the time space continuum we are learning that who we are in essence is not separate and that this has been scientifically proven, we are alreadyconnected to everything that we love if we can only see beyond our egoic walls of separation, we are learning that nothing means nothing about nothing and that this work requires us to break eggs (metaphorically at least), to die to old patterns and create new structures.  We are being slowly but surely guided premise by premise into the assimilation of deeper meaning and then back to the Power Of Love – the awareness of our true end results and the action we take towards them.  Outside it rains.  Inside I can feel the machinations of reconfiguration.

100 Days Of Awe: Day Sixty Three – Soggy Saturday

Day 63: Soggy Saturday

IMAG4556My rain battered glass shield

There have been days of deep, focused immersion.  As I mentioned previously this week I am unravelling. Choosing to  consciously follow this uncoiling thread I become mesmerised in my internal world; I am delighting in the treasures I am finding here in the caves, my creativity is bubbling up and I forget about the external world, hiding away from it even in this studio of curiousity.  My thoughts are drawn to what I want to write about today, what I find awesome, when I am stunned into awareness by the loudness of thunder and the verdant leafy greenness outside my wind, boisteriously being ruffled by brother wind blowing in big fat drops of rain.  As Stan Phillips puts it so well from his vantage point in Waterford, Ireland today:

Summer comes slow this year.
Shyly,like young and undeclared,
She loves me, she loves me not, love.
And this morning is grey, still, overcast, and cold.
The sky is the colour of lead.
And even the birds who once hurried and scurried around and about the garden,
Are reluctant in the branches. Peering out as if to test the day for possibility of rain by stretching a tentative wing to catch a small drop.
Could birds use brollies?
Silly thought!
The sort of thought that flies into that void twixt the ending of Spring
And the hesitant start of Summer.
Which comes slothful upon the unseasonal and tedious year.

It feels good to be hidden away while Summer struggles to assert herself, to be peering at the world through my rain battered glass shield.  But not for long – I am about to pack up my spear, my amulets and my iron clad underwear to venture to the training fields of Surrey and William Whitecloud‘s Creative Warrior training; 4 days of shaminic immersion and no doubt some magical awe-some moments.  I feel like I am travelling between two or three different realities at the moment smudging the edges of each, dissolving and reconstructing.

100 Days Of Awe: Day Sixty Two – Empty Hands

Day 62: Empty Hands

Booklet1Click on the photo to Download the Empty Hands album

A little background: I am a member of the Million $ Book Club Community, created by William Whitecloud author of The Magician’s Way and The Last Shaman, intuitive master, shamanic teacher.  This club is not so much about money but about engaging the true gold of your creative genius to write books that ‘electrify your audience and position you as a master in your field or genre’.  I attended William’s inaugural course in Los Angeles in February and met twenty other warrior souls.  We learnt through the weekend how true vulnerability is the key to writing that transforms and touches hearts, we also learnt how our smaller self, our ego, is dedicated to sabotage and how our individual sabotage patterns play out.  Fortunately it didn’t end there and we learnt about will and the keys to staying on course to our end goal.  We left with girded loins and continue to support and inspire each other to keep going in this unknown territory.

The reason why I tell this story is because awhile back, Fred, one of my hero partners on this writing journey, posted this link to Nimesh ‘Nimo’ Patel’s free Empty Hands album in our writer’s group.  I don’t think I would have checked the link if it wasn’t in our writing group but I just knew that Fred would only share something of value.  I downloaded the album not expecting much.  I mean it is free after all and ostensibly a rap album not my favourite genre of music.  I played it in the background while I pottered on with my writing.  Within minutes I was stopped in my tracks; yes this was rap but the heart, the passion, the love, the truth just oozes out of the songs.  I had to check out who this Nimo guy was.  He tells his story so much better than I can but sufficient to say he has taken the road less travelled; from great achievement, Wall Street and music success to the Gandhi ashram in India.  He let everything go, stepped into the unknown, pouring love into the small things.  And then four years on this music just started coming through and now I am telling you about it.  Nimo’s story is not about worldwide recognition rather it is about all of us; about you – the spark you have inside you, the love you have to give and your unique genius that is waiting to be awakened.

Thank you to Nimesh ‘Nimo’ Patel for following his heart for Fred Pockrass of Transcendentist in Berkley, California for spreading the word and for everyone out there who is brave enough to step out on the soul journey.

I would love to support Nimo to play his music around the world, if you are interested in offering support in UK or Ireland in November 2014 please let me know [email protected]

100 Days Of Awe: Day Sixty – Unravelling Me

Day 60: Unravelling Me

Do you know when you have a knot in a thread or fine gold or silver chain and it you have to keep worrying away at it until at last and often all of a sudden it loosens up?  I have had one on those knots in my consciousness about being me.

Now I understand the rational concept of being me and I admire the exhortation to be me.  In fact I champion the cause for everyone to be themselves but today I realised that it this is going to be a life time’s work.  What brought me to that realisation was having that sudden loosening of the knot today and slipping from one layer of consciousness to the next.  It was the same place but deeper, like slipping down (or should that be up?) the Fibonacci spiral.   I can’t tell you, precisely what happened, but I believe it is the chipping away that does it.  There are times when that chipping away has a flow, feels productive and satisfying and then there are times that the chipping away is like taking a puny screwdriver to an RSJ seems like an impossible task.  I have been having a time of it recently feeling stuck with regards to my purpose, productivity and frankly my ability to create money.  In fact I have started to slide backwards – commitments being called in, house repairs, clients ready to be in the world on their own.  I have been sweating under the metaphorical collar, tossing and turning at night, questioning, analysis, alternating bouts of optimism with desperate pessimism.

Fortunately I have a tool box I can use to look under the hood of what is going on in my unconscious mind and I have colleagues that will support me to do the same.  Along side the drama I have been chipping away intuitively but I could feel the tension of that drama like a dog with a bone, hanging on for dear life.  Until this morning.  This morning’s chip loosened something, I wasnt sure what, but there was a loose thread something I could go deeper into.  I felt that concept of being me, moving from my head to somewhere just below my collarbone, my heart perhaps and as it landed I was flooded with the emotion of pleasure.  The pure pleasure of being me.  I cannot tell you how expansive that felt.  William Whitecloud* talks about emotion as the secret weapon and before William, Neville Goddard wrote a little pamphlet called Feeling Is The Secret – I got a taste of that today and a whole new level of joy from one of my favourite every ditties from Cat Stevens and made famous in the cult movie Harold and Maude.

William Whitecloud is delivering his last 2 day Meet Your Genius training in London on 31 May & 1 June.  Tickets are his complimentary gift as he is choosing to hand training over and focus on his writing and film creations.  If you are interested please claim your free ticket at Secrets Of Natural Success.

100 Days Of Awe: Day Forty Seven – Up Up & Away

Day 47: Up, Up & Away

IMAG4402-001Helicopter Seeds in Little Wormwood Scrubs

Thursday was a strange day; weird strange not funny strange.  I was in hospital the day before for a benchmark ultrasound before starting HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) treatment. but when I arrived the ultrasonographer (isnt that a mouthful?) first of all said ‘We are going to look at your baby”…..”oops”.  Great to look young enough to be pregnant or then again perhaps she wasn’t looking?  But equally poignant as this is an experience I have not had but had never consciously realised, until this moment, that I would like to have had and most likely will never have.  Inadvertently digging her hole a little deeper she then asked ‘What is wrong with you?” before seeing eventually the detail on the appointment card identifying my visit as a benchmark scan.

A tiny and completely harmless exchange but my unconscious mind when into overdrive.  Like a meerkat kicking up the dirt of thoughts and feelings of fear and death and drama into my self-conscious mind.  Since I attended Alchemy 4 Success last month with William Whitecloud I have been working my new talisman overtime – as long as I am observing what is going on I have the power.  I was observing and I knew that it was the little part of me that was kicking and screaming to survive, burning the rubber of worry to distract me from the real work of being a creative spirit.  Knowing this was one thing but with the best will in the world I found myself resisting the sting of those pebbles of thoughts and stuck like glue into the deep throaty vibration of it all.

Slowly but surely I am realising the power of nature as a structure to bring me back to my heart, to the space and silence of innocence and not knowing so despite the wet wipes of cloying mists I headed up to Little Wormwood Shrubs where I seem to find a synchronistic gems whatever my mood.  Yesterday this was the only picture I took, smudged by the cloying mists (ok ok unfocused) a clutch of winged helicopter seeds (probably a sycamore maple though the leaves look more like those of a London plane) designed for flight.  It reminded me that I may not be flying high at the moment but I have the tools to create structures that are designed to propel me to higher vibrations. A good old chin wag with a girlfriend and pondering this picture I took brought me back to a sufficient equilibrium to ride the rest of the day – even the late night drama of the violent death of a key character in The Good Wife!

100 Days Of Awe: Day Twenty Six – Carry On Alchemy

Day 26: Carry On Alchemy

IMAG3978100% Chocolate Brownie

The day after the finale of our Alchemy 4 Success intensive.  There is a mind expanding silence in this space of assimilation.  Each of us silently sliding back into the orbits of our lives but not the same as when we left.  I want to be alert and aware, conscious and cognizant; assidiously observing what is coming up for me as I re enter the cacophony of life, to see the flickering shadows of the concepts and definitions I project on to the wall of the world knowing they are not true and then proactively switch the power in my subconscious mind.  The intention is to embody the practise of alchemy and master the art of conscious creation.

When I step beyond the veil I can delight in what captures my innocent eye, often it is the simplest of things like the wrapper of this raw chocolate brownie, drawing me into blue sky and sea salt.  I savour and taste its richness gliding deliciously out of Brighton on its nourishment quietly observing the spirit level of power, and bouncing over the glitches of irritation and annoyance that pick up charge as I get closer to London.  I want the rhythm of the wheels on the track to tattoo their message on my soul ‘carry on alchemy, carry on alchemy, carry on alchemy…..’

100 Days Of Awe: Day Twenty Four – The Sacrifice Of The Humble Potato

Day 24: The Sacrifice of The Humble Potato

IMAG3918Day 4 of Alchemy 4 Success from Commonworks organic farm, Bore Place, Edenbridge, Kent.   William Whitecloud continues to reveal alchemical tools for our kit bags.  There is an ease and a simplicity to these tools that belie their power and the focus that is required to wield them.  These are tools that change the lead of our egos to the gold of our hearts but in very practical terms deliver a tangible reality and end results that are aligned with our souls.  We are learning that our concept of life, our perception is a defense against the truth which keeps us separate from our hearts and what we love.  Like the mists of Avalon perception is pervasive, invasive, seductive and delusional, it is the water we swim in, everywhere and invisible to us.  It is futile to try and des rid of the mists we can but orientate in the dark to the beacons of our true end results of our souls.  We are learning how to create and discern true end results from false end results and with the help of a straw and a potato we experience a microcosm of learning.

Try this for yourself – get a big fat raw potato and a plastic straw.  Now IMAGINE the straw through the potato – not so much the process of putting the straw through the potato but the fact that it is already there.  Keep imagining this and take the obvious action to make this into a reality.  Could you do it?  If not what did you experience while you were trying and afterwards? Observe your thoughts and now REIMAGINE the straw through the potato.  You may need to go around a few times to work your imagination muscle but it is possible to do this.  The learning on the way will show you  how you approach creating the things you love in your life.  Do you just fantasise and not actually go for them?  Do you get angry and give you, do you get determined and try harder?  Remember this is an exercise in IMAGINING the end result has already happened and keep imagining it until you have take the action to make that happen.  There are no other tricks to this.

I see awe as wonder, a mixture of amazement and respect.  I expect the experience of awe to be about perception shifting awareness and that demands a reframing of some sort.  I am excited to see what will awe me on this journey.
